STEERING COMMITTEE : Meeting 6

Attendance – David Brunskill, Gary Glover, Fiona Colley, Kevin Swindells, Mary Swindells, Pauline Adenwalla, Cathy Whitehead, Jo Dawson, Ian Owers, Brian Hodge.

1. Terms of Reference for formation of Stakeholder and Community Forums.

• Brian Hodge will draft and then circulate by 31^st December for comments.
• A pre-meeting will be held on 3^rd January 2001 (time and venue to be agreed) to discuss prior to the Council led meeting on 4^th January 2001. Attendees to be Brian Hodge, Jo Dawson, Gary Glover, Janet Hodge, David Brunskill.
• Objective will be to present terms of reference acceptable to CWC for consideration by the terms of reference subcommittee on the 4^th Jan.
• David Brunskill and Jo Dawson to join the terms of reference meeting on the 4^th.
• Composition of Stakeholder Forum and Community forum to follow the lines suggested by Brian Hodge.
• Representation on the Community forum and it’s administration to be co-ordinated by the Canada Water Campaign with funding from the Council (however derived)
• David Brunskill to liaise with Kam Leung to put forward a ball park budget for management and administration of the Forum. Around £80,000 - £90,000 should be bid for. Elephant Link have more than this.

2. Congratulations extended to Beatrice Leung for her work on the MORI poll questionnaire. The meeting contrasted the consultation on the MORI poll with the lack of consultation on terms of reference.

3. Waterfront. David Brunskill explained the lack of progress on Waterfront. Beatrice commented that whilst CWC had achieved removal of the worst aspects of the waterfront questionnaire we had not been able to include any questions on "Vision". Fiona Colley commented that she had put the vision question to Steve Platts only last week – and he was still talking about a High Density Town Centre (HDTC) Vision.

4. The meeting agreed that there is a serious issue as regards LBS still persisting with it’s HTDC idea. Gary reminded the meeting that CWC in it’s last public meeting got a mandate to fight against a high density town centre. The residents of the area rejected that vision but were in favour of low rise, higher quality retail and waterside café type outlets with additional community provision. CWC must therefore get clear vision principle established.

5. Over the Xmas period Emma Williamson kindly volunteered to keep the Email address up and running. Although we will put an Autoreply in to say that the Campaign is closed down for the Christmas Break.

6. Next Steering committee meeting will be 8^th January 2001 at 1900 at Time and Talents.

7. There will be two public meetings planned.

• On Tuesday 27^th February at 1900
• On Sunday 4^th March in the Afternoon.
• Both meetings at Alfred Salter School
• Jo Dawson will build the team to handle the meeting organisation including pre meeting publicity via Posters Tube Station Handouts, Wall presentations, Questionnaires. Detailed discussion on 8^th January.
