Forum meeting Monday 17 September 2001 7pm Bacon's College
Canada Water Consultative Forum Briefing note on consultant recruitment and consultation A consultant has been recruited who will be attending the forum 17.9.01. The consultant has been asked to design and carry out a process (using existing surveys such as the MORI survey as a baseline) which will help to build consensus on a vision for the area. They have been asked to train local people in the development and planning process, highlighting opportunities for intervention and involvement. The consultant was shortlisted by myself, Nuala Conlan (Head of Community Involvement, Development and Advice), Pauline Adenwalla, Ian Owers and Adam Faulkner. OPM (Office for Public Management) scored highest overall, and Miffa Salter from OPM attended an interview with myself, Pauline Adenwalla and Julie Tallentire from the UDP team. Miffa Salter will be at the forum to discuss the process with you. If you have any suggestions/queries/concerns you can raise them with her, and you are welcome to send any comments you wish to make in advance to me, and I will forward them on. An e-mail has been sent out to all forum members from myself, inviting everybody to contribute to the consultation process. I have also met with the councils Consultation Department, the UDP team, the Neighbourhood Renewal team and the Area 2 Forum co-ordinator to ensure we are working together.
