Dear ... THE FUTURE OF CANADA WATER AND THE SURREY QUAYS SHOPPING AREA I am writing to invite you to take part in some important workshop meetings. Pascale Rosenbloom, Southwark Councils Community Liaison Co-ordinator, has asked the Civic Trust Regeneration Unit to provide an opportunity for you to influence the future of Canada Water/Surrey Quays shopping area. To do this we are organising Local Consultation Workshops. The workshops are open to everyone. Because we understand that you have particular knowledge and interest in this matter, we would be delighted to see you at one of the three workshops. Please see the list below, and come to whichever of the workshops suits you. If you can let us know in advance that you will attend that would be helpful because we would know how many people to expect. 1. Saturday 27th
October, 1 4pm at Seven Islands Leisure Centre 2. Monday 29th October, 6.30 9pm at Time and Talents, the Old Mortuary, St Mary Church Street 3. Tuesday 6th November, 6.30 9pm at Alfred Salter School, Quebec Way The Civic Trust is a national charity dedicated to the improvement of the quality of life in our towns and cities we are independent of the Council. Our role is to enable you to have your say about the future of the area. The council will soon draft a Development Framework, and this will be the basis of future planning applications by developers. Before the planners start writing, it is vital that you have your say. The consultation workshops will take into account issues affecting the wider Rotherhithe peninsular. The map on the back shows the wider local context for the Canada Water site. If you can come we want to send you the delegates pack in advance. Please contact Sapna at the Civic Trust on 020 73891379 for a copy. If not, we will have plenty of spare copies on the day. Everyone is welcome; if you havent been to a public meeting of this type before, please come to this one. Bring your friends, family and colleagues as well! If you have any special needs (transport for people with a disability, childcare or English as a second language) please contact Sapna, Alex or Kevin at the Civic Trust at least 48 hours before, via Sapna on 020 73891379, or Kevin on 020 73891381, or Alex on 020 73891385.
